ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine theroles of Non-Government Organization on Peace Building in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. Specifically, the study aimed at assessing the role of NGOs in Peace Building in Maiduguri, examine the effectiveness of NGOs in the peace building in restiveareas in Maiduguri, identify the way forward for NGOs in the peace building campaign. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 133 responses were validated from the survey.From the responses obtained and analysed, the findingsbrought to light most of the problem affecting Non-Governmental Organisation, the result of the study showed the attitude and perception of NGOs staffs and Stakeholders toward various aspect of Poor effectiveness the Non-Governmental Organisations particularly in area, surveyed. Furthermore, the weight of evidence and inference contained in the study strongly suggested most of the significance aspect of indiscipline that require immediate attention so as to produce good future leaders. The study recommended thatNon-Governmental Organization should annex some paramount quality of which diversion of the relief materials by some unpatriotic officials who were entrusted with the public resources is one of the paramount
